AI Ark is the ZoomInfo alternative for teams that own their outreach stack and want a self-serve database that hands them a verified, ready-to-send file, priced per valid contact, from $49 a month with no contract. ZoomInfo is for large sales teams that want data, signals, and engagement from one vendor on an annual agreement.

Key takeaways
Different scope. AI Ark is a prospect and company discovery database that exports a verified file into the sending tool you already run. ZoomInfo is a go-to-market platform where the database sits under intent, visitor identification, workflows, a dialer and an AI workspace.
Different point of validation. AI Ark verifies every email with BounceBan at the moment you export, and the file contains only valid addresses, including confirmed catch-alls. ZoomInfo validates before records enter its database and attaches a Contact Accuracy Score, so the check happened before your export, not during it.
Pricing models are not directly comparable. AI Ark publishes every tier, from 5,000 credits for $49 a month, with unused credits rolling over up to twice your plan limit. ZoomInfo quotes each contract privately on an annual term; Vendr puts the median at $33,500 a year across 1,571 purchases.
Refresh cadence. AI Ark refreshes its entire database every 30 days and re-verifies the email at export. ZoomInfo describes continuous updates , while 2026 G2 reviewers still report role changes lagging on smaller accounts.
What a credit buys. AI Ark charges 0.5 credits for a profile and 0.5 more only when a valid email is found. ZoomInfo charges one credit per exported record regardless of what comes back, and two users exporting the same record spend two credits.

What Teams Say About AI Ark
What is AI Ark?
AI Ark is a B2B prospect and company discovery database for sales operations teams, agencies and founders who run their own outbound. It covers more than 500 million people and 70 million companies worldwide, with the whole database refreshed every 30 days. You search, filter, select and export; there is no seat-based contract, and every tier is published on the pricing page.
The working assumption is that you already own your outreach stack. AI Ark's job is to hand you a file you can upload straight into Smartlead, Instantly, Email Bison or your CRM without a second verification step. That is why every email is checked with BounceBan at export, why the file contains only valid addresses, and why you pay for a valid email only when one is found.
The capabilities that set it apart are in the search itself. Company Lookalike takes up to five customer URLs and finds semantically similar companies based on what they do, not their headcount. Net New versus Saved Records means you are never charged twice for the same person and never re-export someone you already contacted. And the filters go where most databases do not: headcount growth over 6, 12 or 24 months, employees by department, time in role separate from time at company, and person location separate from company HQ.
What is ZoomInfo?
ZoomInfo is an enterprise go-to-market intelligence platform. It combines a contact and company database with buying intent, website visitor identification, org charts, a Chrome extension, sequences and a dialer through its Engage add-on, and native Salesforce, HubSpot and Dynamics sync. It is sold to sales, marketing, talent and operations teams, mostly mid-market and enterprise, through a web app, mobile app, API, MCP server and the GTM.AI developer surface.
ZoomInfo's data comes from roughly two decades of its own collection plus third-party sources to fill gaps. Verification runs through machine learning, SMTP-level validation and deliverability testing before a record enters the database, and a research team of more than 300 people handles ambiguous or high-value records. Each contact carries a Contact Accuracy Score between 75 and 99 expressing ZoomInfo's confidence that the person works at the listed company and can be reached at the business email. ZoomInfo's published headline figures are 96% email deliverability and 87% mobile accuracy.
ZoomInfo publishes no dollar amounts for its platform tiers. Paid plans are annual, quoted per organisation on seats, credit volume, features, integrations and term length; intent data, Engage, international data, extra seats and API or MCP access are listed as add-ons. ZoomInfo Lite is a free tier with 10 credits a month, and GTM.AI sells pay-as-you-go data credits from $0.38 with 1,000 free at signup. It suits organisations that want one vendor for data, signals and engagement and have the procurement process to negotiate a contract.

Data quality: where validation happens
How AI Ark does it
We verify at the moment of export, not when a record enters the database. When you select "With Valid Emails", every address in the batch goes through BounceBan in real time, including SMTP checks and catch-all resolution, which is why a verified export can take up to 30 minutes.
Catch-all domains get individual treatment. "Catch-All Valid" means the server accepts mail for the domain and we have confirmed this specific address exists and is safe to send to. Risky and unknown catch-alls do not make it into the file, and neither do invalid addresses. You pay the 0.5 credit for an email only when we find one.
On average about 70% of contacts in an export come back with a valid email, and we expect a bounce rate below 1.5% when the file goes straight into a sender. The other 30% still carry the LinkedIn URL, exact title, company and firmographics for LinkedIn or phone outreach. Rather than take our word for the 70%, run your own ICP through the free tier and count what comes back.
How ZoomInfo does it
ZoomInfo validates before publication. Its data page describes multi-layer email verification with SMTP handshake and domain validation, deliverability testing before data enters the database, and machine-learning confidence scoring. The output is the Contact Accuracy Score of 75 to 99 described above, which you can tighten before exporting.
ZoomInfo publishes 96% email deliverability and 87% mobile accuracy, and describes 15 to 20 million job changes processed a month with updates pushed to CRMs within minutes. We could not find a published refund policy for bounced emails; ask your account team.
Reviewers are more mixed. On G2, as of 8 September 2026, ZoomInfo holds 4.5 out of 5 across 9,117 reviews, and the three most-cited complaints are inaccurate data (205 reviews), outdated data (203) and outdated contacts (186). One May 2026 reviewer wrote that contacts can take almost a year to update after a prospect leaves; another reported bounces from stale records; an August 2026 reviewer noted accuracy drops in EMEA and APAC.
The trade-off, stated fairly
ZoomInfo's model shows you a confidence score before you spend a credit: set the accuracy score to 90 or above and pull what qualifies in seconds. AI Ark cannot show who has a valid email until the export runs, because the verification has not happened yet.
AI Ark's model is built for the file that goes straight into a sender: the check is minutes old, not months, and you never pay for an address that failed. ZoomInfo customers who still run exports through a verifier are paying twice for the same assurance.
The fair test is the same list from both: export 500 contacts for one ICP from each, load both files into your sender with no extra verification, and compare bounce rates after the first send.
True cost: what a valid lead actually costs
List price is the wrong comparison because the two products bill for different things. ZoomInfo bills per exported record on an annual contract, whether or not the record delivers. AI Ark bills per profile plus a second half-credit only when a valid email is found. The number that matters is what one sendable contact costs after verification and dead records.

AI Ark plans (monthly, credits roll over up to 2x plan limit)
Plan | Credits per month | Monthly billing | Annual billing (credits per year) | Seats included |
Free | 100 | $0 | $0 | 1 |
Starter | 5,000 to 30,000 | $49 to $119 | $470 for 60,000 to $1,142 for 360,000 | Up to 3 |

Scale (Agency & Enterprise) | 450,000 to 5,000,000 | $1,249 to $9,999 | $11,990 for 5,400,000 to $95,990 for 60,000,000 | 10 |
AI Ark's per-item cost is 0.5 credits for a profile, 0.5 more for a valid email, 5 for a mobile number, 0.1 for a company record and 4 for an AI personality analysis, with API calls at the same rates.
A worked scenario
Take a team that needs 5,000 contacts with valid emails a month and owns its sending tool. On AI Ark, at the average 70% find rate, you export about 7,150 profiles to get 5,000 valid emails, roughly 6,075 credits a month. The 15,000-credit plan at $79 a month covers that, so the all-in cost is $948 a year for 60,000 valid emails, or $15.80 per 1,000. On the annual 180,000-credit package it is $758 a year, or $12.60 per 1,000. Unused credits roll over for the months when volume grows.
On ZoomInfo, the only published per-record price is GTM.AI's $0.38 data credit: $380 per 1,000 exports, or about $396 per 1,000 that deliver at ZoomInfo's own 96% figure. On a platform contract the number depends on your quote: the $33,500 median contract spread over 60,000 exports a year is about $560 per 1,000 exports, or about $582 per 1,000 that deliver.
The counterpoint, stated honestly
If you have no stack at all, the comparison changes: weigh ZoomInfo's contract against the whole set of tools you would otherwise buy, not against AI Ark alone.
The hidden line item is verification. ZoomInfo validates before publication, and several 2026 reviewers say they still double-check contacts before outreach ; if your team does too, add the verifier subscription and the hours to the ZoomInfo column. AI Ark runs the check inside the export, so the 0.5 credit for a valid email is the whole verification bill.
Work out your own number.

ZoomInfo holds ISO 27001, ISO 27701 and SOC 2 Type II, plus TRUSTe validations for GDPR and CCPA practices, is a registered data broker in California and Vermont, and runs a public Trust Center. It sends notice to EU contacts after enrichment and states that opt-out requests are processed within 48 to 72 hours.
Choose ZoomInfo if
You need buying intent, website visitor identification or champion tracking in the same tool as your contact data.
You run a large sales team in Salesforce or HubSpot and need native bidirectional sync, org charts and corporate hierarchies.
You want one vendor for data, sequences, a dialer and conversation intelligence, and can sign an annual contract.
Your ICP is North American enterprise, director level and above, and you need direct dials at that level.
You need vertical datasets such as Form 5500 or UCC filings, fleet data or insurance producer licences.
You want to pre-filter by a confidence score before spending a credit, and already have a verifier in your stack.
Choose AI Ark if
You already run Smartlead, Instantly, Email Bison, Clay or a CRM, and want a database that feeds them, not a platform that replaces them.
You need the file to be ready to send with no second verification step, including confirmed catch-all addresses.
You want published pricing you can start on today, from $49 a month, with unused credits rolling over instead of expiring.
You build lists from customer lookalikes and rely on filters such as headcount growth, employees by department, and time in role versus time at company.
You prospect globally, export in volume at 10,000 records a batch, and need duplicate protection that works across the whole team.
You are an agency exporting unbranded files for clients, or you automate through the API, MCP server, n8n or Make.
AI Ark is built for one job and does it at the moment it matters: the file you download was verified seconds before, you paid only for what passed, and you saw the price before you signed up. If the list above describes you, run a free search first and see how many of your target accounts are already in the database.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Is AI Ark a direct replacement for ZoomInfo?
AI Ark replaces the database and list-building part of ZoomInfo today: company and people search, lookalikes, verified emails and mobiles, bulk export, API and MCP. Of the rest, intent and native CRM sync are on the roadmap; the dialer, sequences and visitor identification aren't, by design, AI Ark feeds the sender you already use rather than charging you for a second one. So teams that own their engagement tools switch fully. Teams that rely on ZoomInfo for engagement need a sending layer alongside AI Ark, and usually still spend a fraction of the contract.
2. Is AI Ark's data more accurate than ZoomInfo's?
AI Ark verifies every email in real time at export and delivers only valid addresses, with an expected bounce rate under 1.5%. ZoomInfo validates before records enter its database and publishes 96% deliverability, while 2026 G2 reviewers most often complain about outdated contacts. The two figures measure different moments. Export the same list from both and compare bounce rates.
3. Do I still need a separate email verifier with AI Ark?
No. AI Ark checks every email through BounceBan at the moment of export, including SMTP and catch-all validation, and the file contains only addresses that passed, ready for Smartlead, Instantly or Email Bison. With ZoomInfo, verification happened before the record was published, so many teams run a verifier before sending, an extra subscription and an extra step.
4. What happens with catch-all domains?
AI Ark resolves catch-alls individually. If the server accepts all mail but we can confirm the specific address exists, it is delivered as "Catch-All Valid" and is safe to send to. Risky and unknown catch-alls are excluded from the file. ZoomInfo does not publicly state how catch-all domains factor into its accuracy scoring, so ask your account team before using those addresses.
5. Which is cheaper, AI Ark or ZoomInfo?
AI Ark is cheaper per valid contact for a team that owns its sending tool: 5,000 valid emails a month cost $948 a year on the $79 plan, $15.80 per 1,000, or $758 a year on the annual 180,000-credit package, $12.60 per 1,000. ZoomInfo's only published rate is $0.38 per exported record on GTM.AI, $380 per 1,000; Vendr's median contract is $33,500 a year. With no stack at all, compare ZoomInfo's contract against the tools you would otherwise buy, not against AI Ark alone.
6. Does AI Ark have intent data like ZoomInfo?
Not yet. AI Ark does not currently offer buying intent signals; they are on the roadmap. What AI Ark offers as timing signals are headcount growth over 6, 12 or 24 months, employees by department, and time in role versus time at company, which surface scaling companies and recently promoted people.
7. Can I use AI Ark inside Clay?
Yes. AI Ark's Email Finder API has an endpoint built for row-by-row enrichment in Clay, n8n, Make and Zapier: pass a LinkedIn URL or AI Ark Person ID and it returns the verified email plus profile data. Clay templates and a video tutorial are in the AI Ark docs. A native "Push to Clay" button is in development; today you use Clay's HTTP Request module with your API key.
